Retirement is not the end of the road. It's the beginning of an open highway.
Why I Started
Semper Why
I've always had a deep passion for financial education and mentorship. From the Marine Corps, to the Certified Financial Planning Board of Standards, to the F.B.I Academy, I've honed that interest—teaching financial management, decision-making, and retirement planning. Semper Why continues that journey by offering engaging, accessible seminars both online and in person.
A little about me.
I've worked in the education, financial planning, and contractor sectors, as well as the nonprofit field as the Education Director for the Certified Financial Planning Board of Standards.
I earned a Doctor of Arts in Higher Education from George Mason University, an MS in Financial Services from The American College, an MS in Logistics Systems Management from the University of Southern California, an MA in American Diplomatic History from Georgetown University, and a BS in Economics from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. I've penned over 125 articles in military journals and financial publications and the preface of Ric Edelman's (named by Barron’s as the nation’s best financial advisor) book Rescue Your Money: Your Personal Recovery Plan.
I was a Certified Financial Planner® for 30 years. During my military and federal career, I assisted federal and military employees serving with the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.
